Arun Control Systems won the contract with a leading UK supplier of offshore measurement and control systems to provide a SCADA system to act as the primary operator interface for one of their control systems on an unmanned platform. This control system was concerned with the separation of crude oil from the sandy extract from north sea oil wells.
There was close cooperation in the development of the system between ourselves and the client who was simultaneously developing the control system. Despite frequent changes to the User Requirement, the SCADA development was entirely carried out in Littlehampton whilst the client developed the control system at their base in Reading, Berkshire.
We were able to efficiently exchange all details electronically and even conduct our initial system tests remotely from each other.
Having provided thorough training on the system in a session that was a prelude to the main system Factory Acceptance Test, Arun Control Systems was only then required to provide telephone support to the engineer who went off-shore to install and commission the system.
